Sean Brady gets his wish, and the biggest fight of his career.
The UFC announced on Wednesday night that Brady is stepping into the UFC London main event to face former welterweight champ Leon Edwards on March 22 at O2 Arena.
Brady replaces Jack Della Maddalena, who will now challenge Belal Muhammad for the 170-pound title in the main event of UFC 315 in May, per an announcement by UFC CEO Dana White on Wednesday night. Since losing his lone pro fight to Muhammad at UFC 280 on October 2022, Brady dominated and finished Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Austin in December 2023, as well as a lopsided decision win against Gilbert Burns in the main event of UFC Vegas 97 this past September.
Edwards makes his first appearance since losing the welterweight championship to Muhammad at UFC 304 this past July. Prior to that, “Rocky” picked up 12 straight wins, including his title-earning victory and subsequent first defense against Kamaru Usman in back-to-back fights, along with a dominant win against Colby Covington in his second title defense.
